Very common. A lot of women complain of a strange taste in their mouth (especially a metallic type taste, or a sour taste) in the first half of pregnancy. Not much you can do I'm afraid, other than reach for the mints or lemon drops. Drinking water may also help, especially with a squeeze of lemon. Endless tooth brushing is not advisable as it may make your gums bleed - your gums become quite delicate during pregnancy because of the increased estrogen levels. By all means, brush and floss as normal, just don't overdo it.
It will go away! I promise.
Best of luck

I dont know the medical term for this, but its happening to me. At first it was a type of metallic, iron tasts in my mouth, as though my gums were bleeding (this was before they were) and when I looked this up, its a common symptom of pregnancy. I am now 6 1/2 gone and wake up with a minging taste in my mouth and brush my teeth but it always seems to come back. I am guessing that its just the extra hormones etc in the system and nothing to worry about.
My mouth and nose bleed now that I am pregnant, and when i asked the doctors about it, they tested me for anemia, just incase but everything is okay, but i think its just down to the fact that you are making more blood when pregnant so there needs to be an outlet somewhere
Congratulations and Good Luck

I am 16 weeks pregnant and dealt with this since I was 8 weeks. I am still going through it. I brush my teeth like 10 times a day, floss, and use mouthwash. Guess what nothing ever help :(
