At the beach, showing your tummy is fine. If it's to school or dinner cover it up. It's to do with looking the part. In the right situation your tummy showing can look great, in the wrong situation it will look trashy. Looking trashy is never good!!
You don't have to be half naked to look fantastic, sometimes people showing too much skin can put you off lunch.
Also notice 3 out of the 4 male comments have a sexual undertone to them. That's the type of attention you get. It's not positive attention

If you want to show your tummy, that's your choice.
But I know some excellent ab exercises that will help firm up those love handles and slim your waist a bit.
