Could anyone give me a website containing data on the classification of bacteria? I need it to complete a homework.

I don't know a website but the book Bergey's Manual of Systematic Bacteriology contains the names of thousands of bacteria and also describes all the classifications in detail. This is the "bible" of Microbiology. Try to go to the reference section of your closest library and ask the librarian. The book is 4 thick volumes, classifying between gram possitive and gram negative bacteria

The NCBI website (GenBank) allows for BLAST-analysis of DNA sequences. But that website is complicated and you would need to know how phylogenic trees of bacterial classification work.
