You have got to forgive them.
Then you have to forget it.
They are both very hard things to do but you feel better for it in the ling run, you are only robbing yourself

Think of the US in world politics

There is a State Department (Diplomacy) and the Defense Department (War)

There are inducements and Deterrents

For a lasting Peace there must be a mutual benefit and the perceived benefits must exceed their perceived take-aways.

There must be forgiveness also (trust but verify)

Jesus said you must turn the other cheek. Remember during Jesus's time he was considered an infidel and the Romans would have hit him with their back hand not their open hand. By turning the other cheek it would have made it impossible to strike him again in the face. Thus the quote not the current interpretation.

You explain to them how they have wronged you in the past and you aslo explain to them why you want to make peace. If all is well and done in a normal diplomatic tone, it should all go fine

I try to, I am not good at holding grudges and sometimes forgive too easily. It can be a good thing to make peace and then you can forget.

you say out loud the things that they have done or you write them down and then ask forgiveness for them qand yourself and then burn the lot and never return to that stop again. Or if you are brave enough you could go to them and ask for forgiveness that you thought that over them for so long if they did it or not but now you forgive them fully or please forgive me.

Like that really and then you could give them a cuddle or group hug what ever is appropriate.

There is no easy fix here. No one just goes "C'mere...give me a hug". I find that the usual always works in time. You have that period of the silent treatment and then all the sudden one day you start talking again. Just let it happen naturally.

Be the bigger person and admit your wrongs. Remind them that you are only human and that you learn from the mistakes you make. Thats it. If a person cannot forgive you for admitting your faults, then phuck 'em.
