Depending on how you define it, there were countless revolutions: revolutions of African tribes against other conquering tribes/nations; rebellions against the European colonizers (including the Boer War, probably the largest single conflict during the period) and finally, the post WWII independence movements, although in many cases these were less revolutions than periods of civil unrest followed by independence.
