Sachin is towards the final stages of his cricketing career. I dont think he will go much beyond 2007.

Ponting on the other hand is only 32 and is in his prime form. If he continues in the same form for atleast another couple of years and continues to play till the next world cup then he very well might go past Sachin.

I strongly feel that no one can break the record of Sachin Tendulkar's ODI record and it will remain in tact for many years.

In the current scenario... practically no one... cuz...by the time he will retire... other like Inzi, Ponitng, Dravid... will follow it

In my opinion... some one from Subcontinent will break it... cuz here cricketers are inducted in young ages... like Afridi at 19, Sachin him self entered the arena at 16 years of age.. but this won;t be easy... but still..... records are ment to be broken (like rules)
