On UK TV we are being informed that most fires in the home are caused by cigarettes is this true?

Or is it one more ploy by the anti-smoking brigade? I am a non smoker but I believe they are going to far with the banning measures.

I heard that a long time ago, not by anti smoking brigade. It's actually very important for smokers to know that, so if they do smoke they do it more responsibly and don't burn out the whole house as well as their lungs.

There are things smokers can do like using ashtrays in designated smoking areas away from flammable things within the house, not smoking while drunk, etc to minimize the risk.

Most AIDS in the UK is by homosexual contact, especially among white people, that's not homophobic, it's just fact.

As far as the banning measures, it's funny that it's coming at the same time as they're letting up on gambling and alcohol.

Being drunk will increase the chance that your cigarette will burn your house down, and losing all your money at a casino will increase the chance that you won't care if your neighbour's house burns down too.

New Labour is not only an enemy to Islam, it is an enemy to Christianity and an enemy to freedom. (and an enemy to this American spell check).

If Number 10 burns down, you can be sure a cigarette was not the reason.

Talent will out. It'll take a few days, but I reckon people'll be asking "What was the name of those guys???" but I bet they'll still know who Susan Boyle is. I think TV in this country has been of marginal quality - but in the past 10 years seems to be yearning to be just like the c*r*a*p on US TV. Particularly our ITV channels - which seems to be of scarily poor quality. It's driven by advertising, and they are having serious problems drawing an audience. The credibility of that "game show" is seriously in doubt, questions will continue about who called supporting what. Susan is a quality act. She had a massive following worldwide. SHE STILL HAS. Perhaps there will be an album in the planning, if there were - she's easy money - coz it would probably blast straight out of the doors of any shop or download site. (Now we get into the credibility of the pop charts here - HAH!) Check out yahoo - I'll bet she fried a few servers there with her first performance - what was it - more than 60 million views? ...What was the name of those guys who won???
