yeah, possibly seperated ribs too- were you in a scuffle or sports or accident? In either case you should go to the doc ASAP

Does it hurt when you take a deep breath, also? If so, you could have torn the intercostal muscles of your rib cage. That is a good sign of this injury. I tore mine while weight lifting and it felt exactly as you describe. You should see a doctor, obviously, to properly diagnose the problem. The only thing is that, like a broken rib, there is not much they can do about it, wrap the rib cage, strong anti-inflammatory, ice and rest. It took around 8 weeks for my pain to fully subside. I do hope it is nothing too serious and your feeling better soon.

What tell my patients is that on a 0-10 scale, a 0 is no pain, and a 10 is "for God's sake, will someone please take me to the emergency room!?!?!"
So, if you are at 10, you need to see a physician right now. Once the doctor has ruled out the serious medical possibilities - cardiac, lung, fracture - you will probably do well to see a physical therapist. Go to APTA.org, click "find a PT", and search your home area.
Good Luck!

This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Try exercising all parts of your body. It also sometimes is due to disuse atrophy. Try out some home remedies. You can also look for information in the web that give you home remedies. I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html

what did the doctor say??. What's that, you havent seen a doctor?? Sorry to be sarcastic, but people insist on guessing about things and wont see professional help and then wonder why things dont get better. Sorry to vent on you.
