My belief is that when we think and hear that little voice in our head, that it's not really our brain that is thinking, but we are really hearing the voice of our higher self/soul/energy source and the brain is nothing more than a transformer of the soul energy. Like when we plug an appliance in an outlet. It's not the outlet that's powering the appliance, but the electricity. I think it's the same concept. The brain doesnt do the thinking. It just provides the electrical impulses and hormonal stuff so our physical bodies can hear our soul speak.

The belief in the "soul" will depend on what type of faith you adhere to. Generally, almost all religious practices in the world consider the existence of the soul. The soul is not related to consciousness or to thinking. It does not have a brain. It is not a body function. The soul is actually a "driving energy" that exists in every living individual. It is a pulsating force which fuels our life processes. A criminal has a soul, the hobo has a soul, your taxi driver also have one. Even your pet dog has a soul. The fact that you LIVE and does not merely EXIST is proof that you possess a soul.

Plants do not have a brain (in the sense we understand brain and it's functions) yet they follow processes for preservation and so do the insects/ elements that pollinate. Mind is truly great but there is evidence all around us that it is not the essence of life. Plants breath so they must be alive. The soul is in everything that lives. It is the true essence of life.

Is not the soul the very thing that defines who we are? Does it not love, hate, yearn, inspire, and feel? When we are children we use little brain and more soul. As we grow older we use more brain and sometimes less soul.
