Poverty is more of a state of mind than it is a physical condition. Yes, there are millions of people that do live in atrocious conditions---I am well aware of what a ghetto is and what it looks like and what goes on there. Poverty, as it exists in America however, is a mental condition where a person feels desperately left out of the mainstream of society, rather than living in an actual state of deprevation. It is living in a constant state of depression brought on by a feeling of lack, a feeling of being left out when it comes to having the good things in life. In other words, it is spiritual poverty, which is lack of contentment with what God has provided. If a person has their basic needs met, that of shelter, food, clothing and medical care, then they are not impoverished. If they have more than these things, then they are living in abundance. The possession of material goods or the lack thereof does not determine whether a person is living in poverty or not. There are millionaires and billionaires that are impoverished because they are never satisfied with what they have and feel that they are being neglected and cheated out of having more. And there are those who have little, but they are rich beyond compare because they are satisfied with what God has provided them and are content to dwell in his love. The cure for poverty is spiritual because the cause is spiritual. Contenment with what God has provided is the cure. When a person is content with God, then he is at peace with God and the true riches of the universe unfold to him and are made accessable. You probably do not want me to preach, but I have to say it anyway---Jesus is the LIght of the world and the only way to contentment and wealth.

there is virtually no reason that people should be going hungry at the rates that they are.t affects every corner of the earth, and there's really no precedent for this to happen.Adults and especially children are feeling the brunt of the hunger issue. You can see more details:

There will always be rich and poor.
The only way you can eradicate "poverty" is by changing its definition.

How can you eliminate poor people?
Who would be left to feed the rich?
The rich feast off the poor,
and if all were rich, who would grow the food?
Everyone would be so busy doing what they wanted,
no-one would get anything in the end.

You can't. You would have to eradicate stupidity, and addictive behavior,--gambling, drug addiction, etc, and also health problems.
