It is in a way. What you think-is. So if you think it is flawed, then you are setting that energy up for yourself. Some people enjoy the changle and status of living with someone for many years as a family member, others don't see a need. Some guys functionbetter when they are living with a parttner than as a hubby. The presure of being a hubby sets up a line of thinking that leads to the marrage seperation, when that presuse isn't there they thrie in the relationship. Hope this has helped you. Dave

I believe that marriage is union of 2 people who are mature enough to handle anything that gets in there way...Its flaws are not from the institution of marriage its flaws are from within the man and woman who make the commitment that they just can't keep...love kara I can be serious to...DUDE

But you didn't suggest "how" you thought it was flawed...

No, actually, I do not. There's nothing essentially wrong with the "institution" of marriage; the "flaw" lies with the couples that are not emotionally mature enough to live with another person harmoniously.

Some of the biggest reasons for the divorce rate are:

- arguments over money, when they should be acting as a team.

- a lack of compromise, which is essential for resolving any problem, large or small.

- a lack of sympathy and forgiveness, so that couples can recover from their mistakes and move forward.

- too much selfishness ("me" instead of "we').

It's not the institution that's flawed, but the fact that people are simply flawed...much like technology. Humans, being imperfect by nature, cannot create something that is perfect. We can try and many succeed at coming quite close, but many also fail...

Not really,I believe people are flawed,& by todays standards the vows, the word "Obey" does not sit well with most women...however the standards of marriage as outlined in the vows is a strong statement often misunderstood by those enthralled by it all..The basis of marriage is a good one.

Yes, anytime you're commited to an institution, it's a big flaw.

Yes, its too easy to get into and out of. No one takes vows seriously any more. There seams to be a mindset that it can always be undone. Too sad.....More often than not, MARRIAGE leads on or both parties to check into an INSTITUTION.....
