Don't worry about what other people think, just ask yourself why you're doing it.

If you think it'll give you a blast to look in the mirror every day and see the piercings staring back at you for the rest of your life, by all means do it.

But realistically, you're going to have to wash them all the time, constantly care for them. Having these areas pieced aren't like ear pierceings, you need to look after them. If you changed youur mind in 5 years time and wanted to remove them, you may find your lip piercing leaves a slight scar.

You gotta do, what you gotta do. Read up on body modifications, realise that the piercings will be painful, will need lots of TLC and that you need to pay a proper professional to do it. Get advice from friends and the internet before taking the plunge. You don't want some amateur screwing the job up.

I think the question is... why do you want to get your tongue pierced? Most people who see someone with a tongue pierced assume they did it so that they can give better oral sex. So if you are doing it to look cool, you might be getting the opposite. You might be making yourself look like you give a lot of oral sex.

I'd say buy a cool pair of shoes instead. :)

When I met my fiance she had her nose, brow, and tongue pierced. I thought she looked hot as hell and never once thought she was gay or easy. Some people are simply into piercings and it doesn't mean anything.

I will admit that when people notice tongue rings they immediately think about how they relate to oral sex. To be honest, I don't even notice anymore, not even when we kiss.
