My favorite is actually a toss-up between Spot on the Munsters, Jin-Jin on I Dream of Jeannie, and A.L.F. - probably the last one though!

You know, you made me think of something today that I never had.. and after that, the favorite HAS to be Spot from the "Munsters". Because he's scary, and never really seen, but loved by the family. Living under the stairs (which opened like the batcave's 'garage') we saw his eyes, and flames from his mouth. Was he a dragon, was he a beast from hell, was he a Golden Retriever from outer space? He was the family pet, we know that and was cared for by children. ALF wasn't the family pet at all, but a "houseguest". I considered Lassie, who had his own series and probably SHOULD win.. but, you said "family pet" and Lassie was more like a community member. Magilla Gorilla was just at the pet shop, and yet to meet a family. There's the Simpsons' pets. Baretta's brid. Even Elmo's pet goldfish which has significant camera time. Instead of bit roles, and walk-ons and offs (like most shows) the pet on the Munsters was ever-present because they spoke of him, and you never knew when you'd see him.. and especially as a KID... you thought about it/him whenever you saw that living room's set-design!!

My suggestion could be a doberman. Mine died of previous age regrettably. He became the main loving, dedicated canines I even have ever had. Dob's on no account advance up so coaching is mandatory as they're super canines and could be obedient, or they're in simple terms toddlers all their existence in any different case. As a shield canines, his growl became sufficient to scare anyone away. I dont think of canines would desire to be experienced to attack, although as quickly as I walked him, no-one would desire to come close to me or my babies without him being on the alert for threat. He on no account bit anyone, in simple terms enjoyed cuddles and in case you have the time to spend with yet another infant interior the relatives, i might propose you elect one. Their attractiveness of being unpredictable and cruel is via the fact human beings practice them to be that way.
