at least 9-10 bucks an hour. Who the **** can live on 5-6? Screw minimum wage. These huge companies are making HUGE money paying their employees minimum wage.God bless!

What the market will support. Artificially setting it above this increases unemployment. Currently in most populated parts of the USA the market supports more than the current federal minimum wage. Where I live it is hard to find a job that pays less than 8 bucks an hour.

I think it isn't minimum wage so much as it is the inflation of prices for products/services rendered. The recent raise in minimum wage devalued my earnings, erasing almost half of my career, financially. Now, I'll need to get either a second job, or be forced to work as a manager, since I seem to be at the top of my payscale.

But, on the flip-side, the corporate powers need to take the initiative to offer wages that will make their employees proud to work here, and thus work harder and with a higher desire for quality.

As of January 2007, the federal minimum wage is $5.15/hour.

Fair would be any minimum wage that includes American Samoa.
