The last 3 digits on the back is the security number.

It's the 16 digit number on the front. I called an 800 number 3 times and kept getting turned down by their machine. After the third turn-down, a human came on and handled the problem easily. I have a 7-digit number on the back, 4 digits followed by a hyphen and then 3 digits. Sometimes on the Internet they want another number besides the 16-digit card number. I forget what they call it, but I have to give them the 3 digit number. Then everybody's happy.

The card number is the 16 digits on the front, the disits on the back are security numbers. If you cant get the automated service to accept the 16 digits on the front contact the card issuer.

this sounds a bit dodgy to me, you should never have to activate a card through an automated service, you normally have to sign and send back the reciept that came with your card, but if it ligitimate it will be the 16 digit number on the front, then it should ask for the ccv number that is the last three numbers of the card on the back, hope this helps, i hope you have not been diddled eitherxx

the numbers on the front are the card numbers. There isn't a customer service number on the back of the card you can call?
