approximately 4 months. If experienced doctor, he will be able to check it correctly but there are chances that he/she could be wrong. after 6 months, it's sure. about 28-30 weeks, 4D ultrasound will be able to make sure the gender of the baby as well as the baby's face and it's movements clearly. It´s different with everyone, my sister knew at 16 weeks and I´m 22 weeks and still not sure. Most doctor says between 16 and 20 weeks. And then the baby also needs to be in the right position to be able to see. With my last check up my little one refused to move so we are still not 100 % sure....

I have been told they can tell at 15 weeks, but most doctors wait until the 20 week marker to do the ultrasound. My doctor waits until 28 weeks! Just remember, they can be wrong. They can't always tell the sex either. Sometimes the baby won't move, or (s)he is moving too much and they can't get a clear view.

Normally, providing baby is co-operative at your 20 weeks scan.. My first i wanted to know so badly but she had her legs tightly crossed so the hospital was un-able to tell me so don't get your hopes up too high!! My second i was not that bothered and they could tell me clearly it was a boy at my 20 week scan.. Typical.. Good luck!

Well I'm getting mine next week and I'll be 20 weeks. I know that they can do it sooner but most doctors don't want to do it until after that 20 marker. Wish me luck for open legs :)

Sometimes they can tell at the 12 weeks scan but the morphology scan at 18 weeks is a sure tell

I found out at my routine 20 week ultrasound. I was told they can usually tell as soon as 17 weeks, though.

I believe it is a 20 weeks with an ultrasound!!

i found out i was having a boy at 17wks 5 days.
i was told by the clinic depending on babies position it could be seen at 16wks.
i also had a 4d scan at 32wks and it was confirmed hes a little fella for all those who say scans are wrong alot of the time!!!
