Do you think the world would be in better shape if humans weren't the dominate species

We can only measure intelligence for humans. There is no real way to measure intelligence for any other life form.

Humans once coexisted with all other life forms on Earth. There were still plenty catastrophes. Like Ice Ages, earthquakes, volcano's, floods etc etc. The problem now is that human activity has had an additive effect. Construction causes erosion and floods. Things like that.

The physical parameters of Earth and the universe are truly the dominate factors. Life on Earth could end anytime. All it would take would be one large meteorite contact.

It is unlikely that humans would be the cause of death for Earth. More likely humans would bring about the termination of their own species. This is the way things are. History has seen the rise and fall of many animal species. History has seen the rise and fall of many human cultures. Nobody should doubt that these things would occur again.

Remember, the universe, including Earth and it's inhabitants all are part of a chaotic existence.

The planet would definitely be in better shape, but we would be clinging to survival, just as every other species. Humans have been smart enough to develop technology and sophisticated weapons, but not smart enough to prevent their use in ways that are highly destructive. And in general, humans have not been smart enough to avoid overpopulating the world. It is a case of a little intelligence is a dangerous thing.

AGAIN I SAY, STICK THE THUMBS DOWN UP YOUR A$$. I GAVE MY OPINION IN WHAT I BELIEVED WAS A CONTEXT OF INTELLIGENT DISCUSSION AND MUTUAL RESPECT.

What does being dominate have to do with intelligence?

Humans don't have enough intelligence and the world would be in better shape if we had more.

No, we have too little intelligence. Sometime humans just don't want to understand even if they have the potential to. Why do think there is so much war going on in the world?

You don´t need intelligence to be the most dominant species.
Rather, you need strenght and the right "conformation", like hands, feet, the power of language.... etc.
Have you read Animal Farm, by George Orwell?

I love Carl Sagan's observation that humans are the way that the cosmos has evolved to contemplate itself. Sure we've screwed things up somewhat, but how boring the world would be without us.

Too little intelligence maybe.

Ones with more intelligence are going to be the ones more concerned with safeguarding the environment and protecting endangered species.

There is no such thing as too intelligent. The more you know the more you realize just how little you know.
