Because of the high blood presuure i would just wait and let nature take it's course. Baby will come when its ready. Instead treat her to a relaxing facial , pedicure or pregnancy massage to make her feel better. Also tell her to rotate on a birthing ball in front of tv , this will help to open the pelvis and baby will naturally slide down into position , and its so comfortable and truly helps to relieve back and pelvis pain. Good luck wish it was me its such an exicting time just waiting for it all to happen.

Walk as often as she can manage it and i was told by my midwife when i went overdue to squat as often as i could to encourage the head to drop down and engage. If she's watching t.v then she should squat over the coffee table or something. Rose tea from the health food shop is supposed to help too. Apart from that not much else because the baby will come out when its ready i was 13 days over my date and then had to be induced and that took forever too but i hope for your wife that she goes into labour soon as i know how uncomfortable it can be. Good luck and congratulations x

I walked thru a shopping centre for 4 hours whilst i shopped with my mum, i was 5 days overdue!! The next morning at 1.30am that baby was ready. i am told exercise will do it as well (i know it is the last thing you want but only gentle walking.) The hospital made my girlfriend climb stairs to bring on her labour. It worked

Good Good Luck

There are others i have heard : Castor oil (you drink it) but it will give you the runs and also raspberry tea.
Or could you could just wait for it to be ready naturally

Hehe, this brings back memories for me, I was 9 days late with my first and second pregnancy, only the first one came natural and the second i had had enough and wasn't going to wait any longer,, i took Castor oil, i didn't think that it was going to work as it took a few hours before i went the toilet, but it did work, the only thing is your dear wife will be going to the loo alot, I was only in labour for 3 hrs, i took the complete bottle with black currant cordial, but i am sure i didn't need t take that much...
My sister also took it with her second child, but she was naughty as she was 6 weeks early, but the baby was fine and it didn't do any harm..

No guarantee though, everyone is different!!!

Give it a go!

hope the baby comes soon..

All the best to your wife that's gotta do all that hard work!!!

Take your wife to bed, show her the best time of her life because it will start her labour and then it will be a loooooooooooong time before you enjoy each other again.
Having said this, her labour won't start until her cervix is ripe enough regardless of any of these methods, if it is ripe the prostiglandins in your semen can induce contractions and the labour may begin. She may be ripe today, tomorrow, or next week there is no guessing! it really is up to good old mother nature! good luck!

So i have a 3 year old and a 2 year old!

With my first born i had the same thing happen. Needless to say i was huge and not happy! I started having contractions one day and did everything walked sat on the ball thingy and rolled! I did EVERYTHING! Finally after 7 hours of beginning stages of labor. I had complained enough of discomfort that they decided it was time to break my water! So with my second oct 24th of 2004 i went to see my doctor and was checked to see if i had dialated. I was dialated to a 2. Well i went home and was fine the 25th went by and still no baby. The 26th hit 8am i awoke cause my first born had woken me up! By now im almost due i had so much pressure on my hips and my sciatic nerve. I was in so much discomfort! Pain is more like it! All day long my son barely moved Normally he is active and wiggling somehow. Well today he barely moved. I drank a moutain dew and layed on my left side and counted the kicks well that was fine! He was just being lazy i had thought. Then 8pm hit and i lost my mucus plug. I was excited by now i knew it was anytime. So i went to bed at 10pm i was exhausted. So much pressure and pain it sucked! I awoke at 9am the next morning. I got up and emptied my bladder sat down on the couch all of a sudden my back hurt real bad and i thought o great a back ache so i stood to stretch. Then it radiated real fast into my lower adomemen. My tummy got hard as a rock quick like for like 30seconds. Then it stoped for about 10 mins at first. I was like man i dont want a long dragged out labor again. So i waited for the next contraction to hit and got up and just paced a lil. Also wanting to be sure that it was actual labor. Sure enough it intensified imensely! So sure enough around 10 am i went to the hospital. Didnt take much with him and he was out. Still had to break my water tho!

So my point to all my rambling is this! You can walk you can jump you can do all the old wives tales. But with my first i tried EVERYTHING. OF course no baby. But my second i was lazy and took it easy and he decided it was time! So my suggesting is stop trying and get some rest you will need it! Sit down prop your feet up and relax! I know that its uncomfortable trust me i had two kids IT HURTS. But you are only gonna stress yourself more by trying harder to go into labor! Beyond contrary belief babys dont come when you want them too they come when they want too.

So i hope all goes well if you have any more question you can im or email me!

Walking is a good one, it set my cousin off who was 6 days over. Thing is though, I know what its like to be nine months pregnant and walk, not a good combo!
Some say a hot curry works, but I found curries gave me heart burn. Or the old fashioned Castor oil method, but I really wouldn't fancy drinking Castor oil!!
My midwife talked about doing a sweep, which is a natural way of inducing, maybe you could talk to your midwife about this.

DO NOT TAKE CASTER OIL it will make your wive sick and on the toilet all day and there is no grantee it will work i took it with both of mine and no then caster oil is meant to trigger the contractions when the bowel opens hard you can drink lots of prune juice which has the same effect but easier to take it put things in motion with my 2ND walk en is good also nipple stimulation eat her manual or if you have a breast pump would be better if you bounce on a birth en ball it helps open up your pelvis if shes due most things should get things on the way good luck and congrats

when i was having all three of my babies my partner banned me from lavender baths as they are supposed to relax you too much and when i wanted all three of them i had one and they came not long after. they also say try. long walks, curry, castor oil, i also had a big gym ball and i found sitting on that opened up the pelvis and allowed the baby down. if i can help any more let me know but if she is really worried i'd go and demand some answers as to why they changed their mind good luck and congratulations when they arrive x x

Your right the best method is sex but as much as your wife wants the baby out shes probably not feeling like it! other tried and tested methods include eating spicy food especially curry! light exercise (again not the most enjoyable activity in her condition) try fruit teas and if its a problem with the baby not being in the right position my friend swears that jumping gently up and down moved her baby and she was in labour 30 minutes later! Good luck and remember he/she will be worth the wait!
