can a veteran get medical - medicaid ? they are asking uncle to pay ... amount for meds sent by mail . non conveinient trips to vets hosp. . if uncle had different coverage .... something near by with out the hasel .

Visit the Veterans Benefit Administration at http://www.vba.va.gov/. It should have an answer for any veteran-related benefit issue.

Try your local Social Services, it will depend on his income and his assets. They will know the guidelines and he very may qualify for other help also. he can own a home and a car and so much money in the bank. If he has a lot, I'd move it out of the bank first, they will check that. But, have a reason for the move...they will check 6 mos. back. /so, he may want to wait it out for 6 mos. after moving the money or close the account. good luck. Though even medicaid has mail order now too, but may be cheaper. As well medicare does too. It's all going in that direction, just have to be diligent and it's a real pain.
