We had a bunch of UN resolutions that forced the situation and we did not act Unilatterally. Our Jets were attacked in the UN mandated "No Fly Zone" We Know it was not because of 9/11 and WMDs was a SMALL part of the reason. Protection of the Kurds ( like when Clinton went to protect the Bosnians) was a large part of it as the UN tends to look down on ethnic Cleansing. So Please stop posting the BS that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 WE KNOW ALREADY!

Please read the UN resolutions as they were the Legal method of attack everything else was just speeches. Your limited understanding of the GAME does not mean the goals were moved. You have to read all of it not just want you want. Ignorance of the LAW is no excuse.

I am sure I heard that out of Bush's mouth at least 100 times before invasion. Then it was lets give the Iraqis democracy and if they don't want it, we will shove it down their throats. They do NOT want us there. Let's see, we have protected 655,000 by giving them death. We went into Iraq under a web of lies by the Bush administration. Iraq did not attack the USA, they were not part of the 9/11 tragedy. We went in there because of Bush's personal vendetta and no other reason except greed for oil. Just how many times are you wingnuts going to shift the goalposts on this one? We all remember: you went into Iraq to get rid of the WMDs and because Bush said - there is FILM of him saying this, you can't deny it - that there were proven links between Saddam and al-Qaeda. The WMDs weren't there and there were no links whatever between Saddam and al-Qaeda. Bush screwed up.

The Kurds were being gassed in the 1980s, and the Americans, British and Germans merrily sold Saddam the equipment with which to do it. No one in the Western govts gave a damn about the Kurds until their plight began to function as a useful political excuse in 2002.

The rationale for the war has been posted on governmental websites that pre-date the invasion and WMDs are just one of many reasons. The bottom line is that Saddam drew first blood when he invaded our ally Kuwait. Had he complied with the terms of peace from that war, the United States would have never resumed the hostilities Iraq started.

Whatever history has been rewritten to try and salvage support does not concern me. The people of the USA were led to believe that Iraq had Nuclear weapons and they were going to use them to kill us. Then, when that proved to be a lie, Iraq was all the sudden a safe haven for the CIA invented Al-Qaeda.
