Chyda hi. Sometimes a manufacture will slip up and some bad product hits the shelves. So they are bound by law to make it know not to buy the affected prduct. If you do have a jar of the affected product and the code is on the lable or on the bottom of the jay somewhere, it will be there if you look for it. Then take it back to the store. Lets say you baought a jay and after eating a sandwich felt very sick. In the hospital you would be asked several questions and test would reveal that the food you ate was off. Asking more questions the hospital would learn it was the peannut better and the the Goverment are told and the worldgoing into action. The manufactures are told and they tel the stores to take it off the shelves and also tell the meadia about the blunder. So don't feel alamed. It is only one type of product by one manufacture, not every jar of pean nut butter.
Hey you should be happy, some people can't eat pean nut butter or even pean nuts for that matter. Hope I've helped you. Dave

I have a jar and it's half empty. Thanks for the info.

I bought the Peter Pan peanut butter in either Venice, FL. or Osprey, FL. at Walmart
If you live in the area you might want to check your peanut butter.

Yeah, peanut butter and peanuts suck anyways. I don't have any of that in my house. I do hope that nobody else gets sick, though. Especially the babies.... They are just eating their fave sandwich and end up getting sick. So not fair... Manufacturers need to clean up their act...LITERALLY!!!!

Thank you, but I've already heard about it. However, I think they said "Best Value," instead of "Great Value." Also, it MAY be tainted. The people who have gotten sick from it did have jars with that code # on it. Thanks again for the tip!!!!

My sister had a jar of the 'tainted' peanut butter -- she feeds it to her 2 year old everyday!
