Only the greedy, filthy rich can sleep at night, oh, and also the government.

Why do people from other countries automatically assume that all Americans think alike and support every action of our politicians?
Tons of Americans contributed financially and through works to New Orleans, so imply that all Americans are ignoring the plight of those in New Orleans is wrong.
According to polls here in the US, American citizens are extremely dissatisfied with the direction that the government is going, thus the huge turnover in our senate and congress after the elections last November.
The problem is that politicians mislead the electorate and then once in office forget that they are servants of the people and pursue their own agendas. Sometimes I wonder if they ever considered themselves to be servants of the people. The government response has been the problem, not the everyday American citizen.
Most Americans are hardworking everyday people, who want the same thing that people of all nationalities want. Peace and freedom to live their lives the way they want and to be able to provide for their families.
Don't blame the entire country for the actions of a powerful few.

Well, alot of us donated money, or time, or supplies to the victims of Katrina. I wish our Government would pull it's head out of its butt and help that city rebuild. It's obvious that our president is more concerned about oil profits than the people of this country. BTW, Some of us are doing the same to help the victims of Darfur.

Good question! I don't think the rest of the world knows how many poor people live in America. I think America should help its own before helping others ie: The Middle East and Africa.

How about the people who had nothing before Katrina? Oh! I get it. Those are non-people... Riiiiight. Only people displaced by natural disasters count. Gee! Thanks for clearing that up for me. *sarcasm*
That said, why are so many of the Big Easy's citizens who came back criticizing their Governor and Mayor? Since we know any response to a disaster is only on the Fed's hands...

Well a lot of things Americans donated money to the Red Cross and to the Salvation Army but I blame President Bush, FEMA and the insurance companies who aren't giving enough fast assistance to those people who have lost everything. it's very sad and when I think about all the money this President gave to further the so called Democracy in Iraq it makes me mad because the terrorists there kill the troops.

There are many places in the world worst off than N.O., although I do feel for the people of N.O., I hope it will soon be the thrilling, amazing city it once was.

America can sleep better, BY WAKING UP, not just to themselves, but also waking up to EVERYTHING THAT'S HAPPENING AROUND THEM. Ignorance & arrogance are pathetic bed pals. Why limit their awareness to New Orleans, when the real tragedy lies within their homes, their cars, their bedrooms, THEIR PRIDE!

Unfortunately State farm and nationwide among others refused to pay insurance claims to those who had insurance. I wonder if Trent Lott got his house rebuilt, in Mississippi? Bush said he would see that his house was rebuilt. What it did show, was the complete and utter failure of this administration to get anything accomplished.

God knows! They are responsible for I estimate 80% of chaos in the world, from Saddam Hussein's hanging, which they should've had no control over, it should've Iraq's responsibility to punish him for what he did, after they were the ones who were worst affected. Whoever said that America are the most generous country in the world is wrong. The United Kingdom is! We donated more money to the Tsunami than the United States and they're a million times larger than us. I guarantee if the "New Orleans" was in the UK, we would've all donated money and Tony Blair would've visited to help out and actually gave a toss! It would've been fixed up and up and running by now, I heard it's because most of the people there are black that George W. Bush isn't that concerned, is that true?
