You can buy (can't remember where from - you'll have to Internet search Ask or Google) a special film that sticks to your glass and reflects the UV rays back - it doesn't cut light intake by much - about 10% - but works! It's the UV rays that cause the fading!
Similar products are sold for car windows - so if your windows aren't huge - you may find it at car accs shops!
There was a company on Ebay selling this a while ago - but I couldn't tell you for definite that he is still selling it!
OR do what I did - put Venetian blinds up!

I got some special sun blinds that block out rays from a company called Andrachelle - they are white and let light in but keep out the UV that fades the furniture etc. They look very attractive and mean you can still see without having to turn on a light as your curtains are shut!

Call a window film company.They will have several different types,I recommend a professional apply it because you dont want air bubbles and creases in the film,that would look terrible.Installed correctly you shouldnt even know its there.

blinds would probably be the best option, or contact a local wondow company and see if you can replace the glass in your windows for a tinted version instead. I know you can get special policarbonate roof sheets for conservatories that keep out heat, cold and UV rays.
