You can remind yourself that having too much of an ego is a sign that you didn't outgrow it when you should have, which is around two years old. Toddlers have that "me,me" ego, but then they start to really appreciate and enjoy other people and eventually (if all goes well) come to see themselves in the proper context.

I had a friend who used to say that she grew up hearing how there was no point in paying attention to how good looking or intelligent or wealthy or educated any of us are because "there is always someone more good looking, more intelligent, wealthier, or more educated than we are, and there's no point even thinking about it".

Maybe the best way to overcome ego is to really become aware of how grateful you should be to just be healthy because so many people don't have good health. I think when people are really, really, appreciative of whatever it is they've been given in this life they kind of naturally operate without much ego involved.

I have never had a problem with ego. I know for a fact that I'm much smarter than the average person on this site with an IQ of 186 and I can live with it. My answers are the correct answers and the others that are different than mine are pure ignorance from the other participants. I can do nothing about the stupid people here and you just have to put up with them.
