The top 3 for me (in no peticular order) are:

The Ring - I was living in an old haunted house, about 1/4 mile from a civil war graveyard, surrounded by creepy old trees that were shrouded in fog every evening, with a well in the front yard when that came out. I was scared to leave the bedroom after that movie.

The Decent
Aliens

Freaky, make you jump and wanna turn the lights on. But, when I was a kid, there was nothing worse than Gremlins and Critters.

It depends on what you're looking for, like something with lots of gore, or something that is disturbing in a not overly gory way? Well, the original Exorcist is one, followed by:
-The Evil Dead
-Bad Taste
-Cube
-Braindead
-The Blair Witch Project
-House of 1000 Corpses
-Wolf Creek
-The Last House on the Left
-Versus (Japanese)

I second Jen's pick of "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" that movie was CREEPY!

I'd also recommend John Carpenter's "The Thing". Very scarey, great old school FX that still hold up well.

Normal scary movies don't really scare me, but I'll be damned if there isn't a cheesy "B" movie that scares the crap outta me every time I see it... Movie called "Night Of The Demon" freaks me out every time I see it. Hostel, Saw, Scream, Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday 13th, none of those scare me... But this stupid low budget Night Of The Demon scares me every freakin time...

I dont know what it was called but i saw it about 20 years ago. A man was going round chopping people up with garden shears. Someone was on a raft with their fingers over the edge, and the shears came out of the water and cut them off. I jumped out of my seat at that time and had to turn the film off

Darkness... (damn scary)
Scary Movie 3...lol (that was scary, especially the micheal jackson part)...double lol!!!

have plenty of teddy's on your bed when you go to sleep and leave a side lamp on...being alone after a scary movie, lets your imagination run too wild...

have fun!!!

the original Exorcist w/Linda Blair in it It is an old one but it's very scary and you won't want to eat split pea soup after you see it, you'll find out why if you watch the movie.
