Judging the outer appearance before conversation is sad, stupid, and annoying, yet we all seem to do it ourselves in some way at some point in our lives.
It relates to heuristics that we form in our minds in order to make sense of the complexities of life. But sometimes these heuristics get in the way of rational thought and behavior.
On the dating scene, it helps prevent us from getting into relationships where we will wind up cheating on our partner because they're not physically appealing to us. But aside from this (which is a stretch), it doesn't really have much value.

Because that's part of life but make sure you won't judge throroughly cuz we sometime presume that person is like this and like that and turn out to be better or worst. So just be alert and i think it's hard to disregards judging the appearance coz that's what we see upfront unless if the person is blind. Then there's no more to be judge. Remember, less judge means more accomplish in life.

I dont think you should categorise people simply because there are a lot of people who will judge based on appearances...I know I dont judge on appearances...I have a very healthy philosphy of live and let live. Unfortunatelly, a lot of people havent grown up, they are a victim of old age ideas...the things their parents and their parents before them believed. Do we really need to be influenced by the old fashioned, closed mind of people who have never had a mind of their own? Do we really have to acknowledge these people exist....Let them live in their prison...allow them the freedom to choose ignorance over Life.
Hang onto the positive people in this world...the ones who understand the importance of choice...the ones who take the Bill of Rights literaly. Ignore the rest, they dont know what they are taliing about.

Some people are more visually-stimulated than others. Some people are insecure and will only speak with those who look like them. Some people aren't grown up enough to know that differences make the world a more interesting place.

I'm not sure i kinda do the same 2, but i keep it to myself...for example when i got hired for my job there was 3 other girls with me during the orientation and one of them looked like a straight b i t c h and we were going to have problems...but i was jus judging her by appearance..once we started talking we became good friends...i guess opposites attract...even my best friend who recently passed away, she looked like sum crazy Mexican gangsta girl, with a punk style but she was soo kind hearted and we've been close friends for yrs....r.i.p. steph

It's human nature. Our first encounter with someone is almost always a visual one. Once we get that that visual stimulus, we start to assess. If we're smart, we use communication to confirm or alter our first impressions. If we're not smart we make a snap judgement.

Humans are lazy. We judge because it is convenient - but....
....appearances tell us alot of a person's style, cultural background, religious observance, personal hygiene, class, mental state, earning capacity, type of occupation, political affiliation, personal belief system.....

human tendency. and our sinful nature.. it is in all of humanity i suppose... and it's also a shortcut for our minds, which are basically pre-conceived notions based on previous ppl who looked and acted that certain way.
though to carry on that judgement throughout... it is not right anymore...
unconditional acceptance is almost impossible as we're wired to be individualistic.
only the Spirit of God can empower us to do so......
