I lived in Germany (Deutschland) for five years, first as a Nurse in The US Army in Nürnberg and later as a civilian, with a Tanz Band that travelled all over Southern Bavaria (Suden von Bayern).

I saw wonderful castles and working class homes, Dachau and The Hoffbrauhaus, Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Obberamergau, Bayreuth and Heidelberg.

I also was able to travel to Berlin before the wall came down.

I miss the people, both the nice one's and the bullies,

I miss the melting pot of so many cultures (Italian, Greek, Turks...okay, I don't miss the Turks *smile*) and the rich heritage of a proud people.

I miss the food! Schnitzel auf Ziguener Art...Kloss...Leberknoodle Soup--Kandatori's...everything!

I really miss German women, for they did not play games with me. If they didn't like me, oh well.

But, if they liked me, OH BOY!

I miss the TRAINS! I loved to board a train at the Hauptbahnhoff and take off for a four hour ride in any direction...I would stop for a walk around some small town, have midtagessen in someplace I'd never been before, and then hop back on the train for the ride home.

I miss the gardens and Kristkindlesmart.

May I come back?

As any math person knows, Germans are the people which have come up with many theories, models, and equations which makes are world go round. The majority of Germans are very intelligent and extremely smart. My impression of German is proud!

You mean what do we think about German people, generally speaking?

Well, being that I am 1/4 German, my brother lived there for over two years, my cousins lived there for over 4 years, I have family that still lives there, I think of them like family because they are.

And they freak me out, too. They are among the most prideful and stubborn people in the world and are very selfish and worldly. They won't be told what to do and won't be told what is right and wrong and don't like to be corrected.

They can hold their liquor.
