My right one has been leaking watery colostrum for a few days now, but the left one is SO SORE. It is harder, biger and hotter than the right one. I have tried expressing from it by hand but nothing comes out. I have tried massaging it and applying warm water from the shower as suggested by my midwife (have also tried various creams) but nothing seems to work. Has anyone got any other tips or suggestions??? I did read an article on babcentre.co.uk that suggests using a sterilized needle to unblock the hole but i am unsure where the hole actually is so i don't really want to try that!!

Yeah i would definitely not do that without an expert. The Doctor may need to see you you may have a blocked duct and yes massage does help but you could have Mastitis, which will require Antibiotics. It is very painful and sore and hot all the symptoms you are describing. You may be susceptible to mastitis if it is happening so early but talk to your Ob's or your GP and they will tell you if it is infected and what you should do about It. Cabbage leaves on sore boobs also may relieve some comfort.
And you are probably already doing this but don't wear any under wire bras as that can also contribute

Good Luck With boobs and bubs. lol

Fill a cup with hot salty water, as hot as you can without burning yourself and push the cup against your breast and tilt so the water is bathing the breast. Sit with it for as long as you can , at least ten minutes and repeat several times a day. If it's just a blocked milk duct which is infected or not this will draw it to the surface. Then just gently rub with a clean sterilised facecloth to release the colostrum or pus that comes to the surface. Do not touch it too much though and don't squeeze just gently rub to open up the duct and then bathe in the salty water again which will draw it out. If this natural remedy doesn't help then it's to the doctors you go i'm afraid as you need a course of antibiotics to clear up the problem before you start to breast feed.

Yep, I know this sounds really gross, but I had the same problem with my first child,

Go to the shop, and buy a cabbage. Put it in the cooling drawer and leave to get cold. Unpeel a leaf or two and place over the breast, but under the bra (to hold it in place).

Sounds to me like you might have mystitis (a blocked milk duct)

I know this advise sounds really weird but it really helps. Something to do with the reaction of the cabbage against the skin so I was told.

Good luck and Congrats on the baby!!!!

I agree with the others who suggest you see a GP/doctor. If it feels hot and swollen, there may be an infection which needs to be treated and it will soon feel better once it is.

Whatever you do, don't stick needles in your boobs or nipples without guidance from a qualified medical practitioner! It doesn't sound fun and the idea of it made me wince.

Good luck and I hope it feels better soon!

Poor you!

Hemorrhoids, also known as piles are swollen veins around the anal opening or the anal canal. They can be painful and linger on for a long time causing distress. Fortunately, there are a number of home remedies that are as effective and provides fast relief https://tr.im/i8zlV

The main symptoms include bleeding during the bowel movement and itching. The first thing that people do to cure hemorrhoids is get an OTC medication, without knowing their possible side effects.

Hi,

If you can express milk out the other breast, try expressing a little out and rub it on your sore nipple.. better than any cream.. it works wonders when your breast feeding too and have very sore cracked nipples.

I would also check with your midwife that you dont have an infection. I had milk fever which is like mastitus but goes on its own after a day or so.
Hope this helps. :-)

i'd say theres a 50% threat you'll be pregnant judging via your indications, and a 50% threat it is basically your era arriving quickly (via fact of your soft breasts, cramping) in case you don't get your era atleast 5 days after it is envisioned, then i propose taking a being pregnant try. ultimate of success! do no longer provide up. The miricale will ultimately ensue. xx (:

Go to your doctor as you could have an infection - in the meantime a clean cold cabbage leaf in your bra will help to soothe the pain (seriously). Good luck x
