I remember the old shows with pets like The Waltons' 'Chance & Blue', the Bradys' 'Tiger'(dog).....and im not talkin bout the shows that were mainly bout the animals like flipper or lassie....but what happened to the people having pets in sitcoms?....The only ones nowadays are the reality shows like Osbournes, Hogan Knows Best..etc

Someone else mentioned Eddie on Frasier which wasn't that long ago. It seems to me the issue might be that most current sitcoms in the US aren't necessarily families and therefore don't have the family dynamic; i.e., a house, a dog, etc. There are are two shows that we currently watch that even occassionally feature a character's pet. One is (the dog) Paul Anka on Gilmore Girls and the other are the 3 or 4 dogs that the character Robin has on How I Met Your Mother. (They are rarely shown though)

good question. they need to get some TV pets not reality show pets. Flipper was so cool. Tiger was not around enough either.

My favorite was "Eddie" the Jack Russell terrier on Frazier.
