I agree that for our own conclusions we would have liked to have seen whether they did commit rape or not... but then we would have just missed the point of the programme
I felt the point of the programme was about how the jury system is about just using proof - which means that the guilty are more likely to be set free, but we are less likely to send the innocent away - if the jury truly only use the proof, and not emotions.
I think this was a better insight into how the jury system works, rather than Channel4 showing that juries get it "wrong" - as I'm sure their decision was right by the method they were using - only trusting proof - there was just not enough evidence to KNOW that she was raped, so they had to say not guilty.

I have watched all week just like you and was dissapointed that they didnt play at the end what really happened. I thought the jury would make their verdict and be shown footage of the real event to show if they were right or wrong. They all seemed very upset with their no guilty verdict at the end and some looked tearful did they not know it was all made up?
I liked the programme on channel four not so long ago about a rape case and you got to see what actually happened. I think that bbc2 should of played what actually happened at the end of the case not just left it...it doesnt prove anything whether the jury was right or wrong, after all it was a tv show.
I know in real cases you dont get to see footage of what happened so may be thats why they havent shown it so its really what happens in a rape case. Oh I dont know !!!!!

Yes I watched and cried and cried and cried. Many years ago, when I was very young I had an abortion - a late term abortion that devestated me then and still haunts me today. Like many of the women in the programme, I worked out the day my baby would have been born - I went as far as giving her a name. The program was thought provoking and deeply touched me - I think about what I did every day and now that I am older, wiser and a mother of 3 children I adore with all my heart - I am pro-life. The posh girl who showed little or no regret at having her abortion is obviously either very detached from the situation she found herself in and is currently in a state of denial - or has a very very cold heart. To all of those who might post something nasty to me because of my confession to having a late term abortion - I understand and I too disagree with late term abortions now - for the mother as much as the baby. It haunts me every single day. At the time I was very young, very scared and in a state of terrible denial. Women who have abortions should not be labelled as killers, as heartless bitches who have been irresponsible with the condoms... but each case should be treated individually and sensitively - and perhaps if the world was a more forgiving and accepting place - if more people were there to give a helping hand and a shoulder to cry on - a lot of abortions would never have to take place at all.

Like with any real trial, you get the verdict, but you never really know if they did it or not. Remember Jill Dando BBC TV presenter. Some guy was convicted of her murder without any actual conclusive evidence. He rots in jail to this day.

That was the whole point of the show.
The justice system is such that if something has no proof, then it cannot have happened.
It does not matter about whether one 'feels' someone is guilty or not, it's about whether or not you can prove it.
It highlighted the complexities of a trial.

unfortunately it was fictional.................which is a shame as it's hard to tell if something is convincing when you know its all acted anyway.
I think the idea was they were guilty and had got away with it judging by their reactions as they bounced out of court. The whole programme was meant to demonstrate that rape is so difficult to prove as its one persons word agains anothers.

I know what you mean, but it was all fictional so there's no way to find out. As a TV reviewer pointed out, that's the big flaw, we can't find out.
