If you want to become a tutor you have to be qualified, you do not need to go as far as a teaching degree or for existing graduates the PGSE (Post Grad Cert in Secondary Education) as these are for school teachers.

What you need to obtain is a City & Guilds 7302 Scheme (C&G 7302) certificate in Further and Adult education training.

Some years ago the government launched Further Education National Training Organisation (FENTO) standards that meant this was neccesary to work in FE and HE colleges to mean that all tutors were of the desired standard and know what they are doing.

This is for those teaching during the day full time and evening courses as before FENTO anybody could teach their subject but without the proper knowledge of how to teach, especially how to teach adults, quite different to children.

To look up the course contents see the books Teaching, Training and Learning by Reece and Walker.

To be honest, it is a year long course, not difficult, assignment based and can be used as partial completion towards a PGCE or Secondary/FE/HE teaching qualification.

If you are to teach in a private organisation this will not be neccesary.

Instead of starting by teaching, why not consider selling franchises instead? That's all a franchise is really... purchasing a business license where the "parent company" then comes in and shows you how to do things step-by-step. Then, your qualification is the success of your business, not some degree that you have hanging on the wall. Just a thought.

no degree needed but you have to capture the knolwledge by hard work (you have to teach) teach the way by giving practical or real life experience that the student can easily receive and also give the application part of the lesson . if you continue in this way you can teach better than others
