I have a huge lot of 78 rpm records with me and I want to take good care of them. Any tips to share? Well, I have some with scratches, how do I deal with them to cover up?, also, how and where should I store these 78's in which position?

thanks !

Store them Vertically, in Paper Jackets if possible. To get better Sound Quality, only Play them with a Diamond Stylus [Needle] Never a Steel Needle. Make sure it's the right type, for 78 's .Also, to Clean them up, You'll need something stronger than a Discwasher. Use Ivory Soap, and Lukewarm Water, and a Nylon Brush, scrubbing in a circular motion, then Rinse with Warm, Clear Water. They'll Sound so much better. For even more Info., and Supplies, contact http://www.antiquelectronics.com . They're the Pros.Hope this Helps !

Store them in an upright position, preferably with the "jackets " on them,in a cool dry place, not a hot or humid place.
Not the attic or the basement.
Use a alcohol based cleaner with a lint or dust brush especially made for lp's,( I don't even know if they sell them anymore).
Wipe in a circular motion ,not against the grooves with the cleaner and the soft brush.
The brush I am talking about is not like a shoe brush,it does not have any bristles on it,it is smooth and feels like felt.
Do not stack them on top of one another,Store them Upright.

NEVER, EVER, EVER use ANYTHING ALCOHOL BASED on 78'S..... The records are made of Shellac, and Alcohol dissolves shellac, so this approach will DESTROY YOUR RECORDS.
