Discuss, I personally hate it. You may say one thing but I could go and edit it and before they have a chance to change it back, some poor sap might have already taken my fake info and stored it the old memory bank thinking that it's true. Help me see the light people, everyone seems to love it except me.

Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia, as they say. But the real thing is, when you analyze it, the word "wiki" means to post data & information on a site which other people could edit.

Contrast to that is the "blog", where people post their information but other people can only view it & not edit. They call the site "Free Online Encyclopedia" because there are lots of educational articles posted there, which can be edited by anyone, I think.

Therefore, you may see thousands or millions of fake information out there.

I'm not against it. I just use it for educational purposes, hoping that the articles I find are true & posted by good fellas.

I hate Wikipedia. It's the most biased encyclopedia I have ever read. I really think Wikipedia should be shut down. Most of the infomation on Wikipedia is not true.

It should have a bright red flashing disclaimer atop every article stating "potential Bulls***, be aware!"

Wikipedia is not a real encyclopedia. Don't trust it completely, liers and fakes are all over the net.

I like Wiki because it has a lot of useful facts to learn.

The only problem I have with it is that when you learn a topic, it talks in complicated terms and requires you to learn something before that topic first. This is generally common when looking up some computer information.

Apart from that, it is very good.

I love it, who wouldnt? Where else you going to get that kind of comprehensive information all in one area? The editing is a little annoying but other than that its great. Editings kind of good cause you can keep updating the topic. Keep wiki up.

You should see how quickly something is changed on there once it's been falsely altered.

The other day, the Seinfeld page was vandalized and "Look at his big Jew nose and curly hair" were added to a photo caption... Less than a minute later, it had been reverted back to its original state...

I'm for it.
