For a long time i always assumed that currency was part of the ascii-extended code table but i was wrong. This character you are asking about is part of the language distrobution package that comes w/ your OS. If you NEED this character and don't have the british pound character already on your keys then you will need a copy of Microsoft Office or KOffice and look under the "Insert" section and select "Symbol" which will then pop up a bunch of different symbols to choose from. Then you just click on the british pound and it will insert it into your document. IF you want to insert it into your text frame online then you just use your little fingers to copy-and-paste it. Here is what you will need just in case you haven't already found it.

£
Â¥

Included are some other very popular currency symbols if you need them in the future.

Enjoy and good luck.

Right, you need to go to the Character Map, and you can do it that way, or you need to go to Control Panel, Keyboard, and change from US, to UK, Unless you live in the US, then i would go to the Character Map, if you live in the UK i would advise you to go to the control panel, and change the keyboard layout!

Hope this helps
