I'm going try and see them, but do you think it will be good? Will they be writing new songs?

hmm not sure - there's something inherently odd with bands reforming any playing songs written with zeitgeist twenty years later; surely it loses its edginess? The Who singing My Generation? What the over 50's? It does not wash.

Regarding The Police, we'll have to see if they come up with any new music, and reserve judgement on the strength of those songs alone. If they are just going to trawl through a back catalogue, then it's up to the old (and new) fans to decide if they want to go see.

Personally, I think it's a bad idea - look at other bands - Sex Pistols reformed (would have been a bad idea in 1985, let alone in the 2000's); The Stranglers, Icicle Works, etc.. No!

It will be awesomely fantastic! Especially for people like me who where too young to see the band the first time round. I've seen them all playing live as individual artists, but never as a band. I for one can't wait. I will beg steal and borrow to get a ticket!

They really should just let it go. Unless this is a temporary thing. Then it's cool. But think of it this way, how many times do you think it will take for Sting to perform "Roxanne" before he takes his bass and smashes it into his forehead?
