It is both awful and terrific. It is a law, the law of attraction. The better it gets, the better it gets and vice versa. Though the universe is expanding it also must be balanced, so we have positive energy and negative energy, positive thoughts and negative thoughts. Thoughts are energy, therefore they cannot be destroyed. They are attracted to those of the same vibration and materialize eventually. This is how we create our own reality. The beauty of this perfect system is that we get to choose what we experience. All we have to do to switch to something better is to take one small step in the right direction. If your life is going downhill and you can`t be bothered to make that small effort, then don`t worry you will eventually hit bottom and get splattered or bounce and make a comeback.

I do not believe that the 00's or ANY decade can be called awful. Things that happen within each one obviously change who we are, how we think, and where we are headed as a race. In the end each decade is a tally on a magnificant history of our home.

So far it's been awful for me. I lost my dad, my sister, and my son's father. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and still deal with the aftermath of Katrina every day. People think that--because the Hurricane isn't a daily news item anymore--things are all better, but I drive along the Gulf of Mexico every day & it's deserted and so sad to see. I miss the pretty southern homes, the parks & beautiful old trees. This decade has personally been my worst yet. Sounds like it may be difficult for you too...take care & best wishes to you.

i read somewhere in an op ed that the generation of today is more pragmatic, they prefer being practical rather than idealistic, principled, or traditional. They just want modern, easy, fast; not as into strong family values and traditions as before. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it is kind of sad. It makes me feel nostalgia for the "good old days"

Yes, I think our culture is out of control. People have lost sight of what is important and are focused soley on money and power. I'm worried about future generations if this continues.
