The belly is usually the toughest for guys. That is the favorite place for us to store fat. What is stored fat? It is unused energy (ie calories). It is the imbalance between the energy you consume (intake) and the energy you use (output). It is measured as a body fat percentage. This energy (calories) is stored as fat until you use it. This is the same theory used in fattening up cattle for butchering. The farmer simply feeds the cattle more calories than they can use up.
Ten trillion sit-ups wont help. You gotta lose the body fat. It is simple. Lower your intake, or raise your output. You can speed up the process by doing both simultaneously.
How do most do it? Crash diets! Bad idea. Starving yourself actually increases your fat storage potential. When your body starves it uses up muscle tissue as well as fat cells. Haven't you seen the third world photos of skinny, starving kids with pot bellies? Your system metabolism slows down to burn fewer calories while on a starvation diet. Once you begin consuming more calories, the body just stores them , preparing for the next starvation cycle.
If you increase your lean muscle mass, you will automatically burn more calories in the day, since muscle uses more calories to operate than other tissues. This is an increase in metabolism. Other ways to increase metabolism is to eat more often. I eat at least 6 times per day. These are not the huge meals you get at the local steak house, just smaller portions of a balanced diet.
If you are already somewhat thin, except for a pot belly, try these easy fixes.
1) Start avoiding calorically dense foods such as sweets and fats. Eat a more balanced diet.
2) Drink a lot more water! The body is mostly water. Keep it flowing to keep you going. :)
3) Start exercising a little bit, or, if you already exercise, add a little to your current routine. Maybe just a few stretches and calisthenics. Or take a little walk a few times a week. Morning exercises will give you a higher calorie burn throughout the day. Get your heart pounding a bit for a minimum of 20 minutes for best results.
4) Start eating more times per day. I do not mean to snack continuously all day. It must be balanced. Breakfast is a must! Get a little protein in your morning meal and you will want to snack less. Avoid stuffing yourself. These meals must be smaller portions. Don't eat past 7:00 PM.
5) Drink less caffeine and alcohol. In fact, lay off liquid calories of all kinds, soda pop included.
This is a slow method which may not change your weight at all but will assuredly change your waist (eventually). This is totally sustainable. You can stay healthy for life with these small tips. If approached incrementally, you will improve before you know it. Doctors say that more than 2 pounds of weight loss per week is unhealthy. This method could net you that change. Your body fat percentage will go down. Once your fat layer is gone, do crunches every day to show off those new found abdominal muscles. :D

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

fat on tummy is usually due to low metalbolism in the over body and seldom excerises. too long hour of sitting.
apart abstain from deep fried and sweet stuffs, you could use herbs tea to flush out the waste. danelion, alfalfa, nettle, orange peel and chammoile. you could get this at organics paradise. ( rear of cuppage ctr or temple street) very low cost to maintain in good shape.
