There will always be those who are poor, hungry, ill, and who will die because of man's inhumanity to man. Politicians are too consumed in their own agendas to find solutions to revamp social security, medicare for the elderly, provide decent paying jobs, and to come up with a national health care plan that would work and sustain itself. All politicians (not just in the US and Britain) are are too busy spending billions to contribute to ventures, called war, where 75% of all deaths are non-combatants are women and children. They will all have to answer that question when confronted with their consciences.

Because we, voters and/or taxpayers, ALLOW them by not holding them accountable! Plain and simple. AND that goes with both major political parties. They, the elected officials, LOVE to say that those who contribute the least in society are the ones that scream and yell and make the most demands... So, why in hell do we elect them? Why in hell do we pay taxes for? Go figure! We ALLOW our elected officials to become lap-dogs (or is it lap-dancers...?) for the super-rich and powerful instead of holding them accountable and getting rid of them (yes, cause them to resign or impeach them) if the minute they start prostituting themselves and the office they were elected to to the super-rich and powerful.
