Hey Ed,
Don't forget we are running out of oil, also. Not to mention the impending global cooling.
Just be thankful that we don't wake up every morning believing the worst in everything. They must not be very happy people.

The US is facing a potential depression, the Federal reserve carries on printing money on promises - the gold (which money is a promisory note for) doesn't exist in that amount. The US has a 3 trillion dollar defecit. As countries start to trade in the euro this causes furhter stress on the US ecenomy. Insolvency and defaults on mortgages are on the rise. Give 2007 a chance, there is a depression coming, however economy is currently bouyed by spending and debt, when this stops the crap usually hits the fan. Obviously this is a very basic answer!

Oh it's coming alright. As soon as China decides to exert it's huge political inluence caused by flooding our markets with cheap goods, as soon as China decides to quadruple the prices (like the Saudis did with oil in 1973) the Depression will come. It may not be in 2007, but it is as inevitable as night follows day.
