Why does every pregame show need at least four analysts?

I don't know how it is in hockey,but in basketball and football it really gets ridiculous.

usually in hockey it is three and they tell you what is going on with the players who is hurt and who has been traded what the stats are and so on.i have center ice so the teams that i pull for have their own analyst which isn't quite so annoying.i know what you mean by to many it is as if they don't tell us what is going on we aren't smart enough to figure it out.
