if you only new how right you are. there are probable even more that have life in a form that we do not understand as life if you look at our definition of life youll see that it is very limited to how we percive things like it has to move or be organic or be carbon based. but suppose it was silicon based none organic and its movement would take years to notice. it would still be alive.but we wouldnt be able to tell just we didnt use to know that plants can recognize one person from another but with electronics science has proven that a gabadge plant can recognize one person from another this was done in a study where the two plants were moniterd for bio electric sound one group of people came in and tore appart one of the plants. the plants gave off high pitched sounds during the attack that latter returned to normal tones. they left the room and latter two different people approched the plants with no change in the sound. they then left and the origenal people returned to the remaining plant and the sound changed back to the sound given off during their previouse attack on the other plant. indicating that the plant was able to conect those people with the distruction of the first plant.the implications of this prove a degree of inteligents not previously known about plants.this does not mean they can get up and walk around but those are only motor skills and some people cant get up and walk around.so just because we can perceive somthing does not mean its not there.

More than one-third of the giant planet systems recently detected outside Earth's solar system may harbor Earth-like planets, many covered in deep oceans with potential for life, according to a new study led by the University of Colorado at Boulder and Pennsylvania State University.

It is still a very young study, however. No concrete answers ... yet.

Yes, I do as well.

The same elements and compounds that are the basis for life on Earth are found all over the Universe. So, it is very likely that life has sprung elsewhere as well.

I find it impossible that Earth is the only planet with life. I also believe that there is intelligent life elsewhere in the Universe.

I like your question, and ponder it a lot.

But my conclusion is I don't think so, life is almost impossible to have occured. I've gone through the math, it's near impossible even if you consider all atoms in the universe, 30 billion years, etc.

But I guess we happened so why not once or twice more?

in my opinion it's possible but unlikely. when you consider that our planet is the EXACT distance from the sun required to maintain life, the possiblities decrease even more. if Earth were any closer to the Sun we would all burn up, any further away and we would all freeze. however, given the existence of intelligent design, it is possible that life on another planet in another solar system of this or another galaxy does exist.

there must be a planet like earth, there are billions of stars which could have a large no of planets and moons hence there is a very high probability of presence of life

statistics probably suggest there are some other planets with life on them, however i doubt if there are " many" that have life on them as you suggest.
