I really like this guy- we're like really close friends. He's always giving me hugs and stuff (though he does that with most of his -girl- friends) and we're always flirting with eachother. We say we love eachother but he says he only means it in a friendly way.
Thing is, yesterday I told one of my close friends i like him and she immediatly said 'I KNEW IT! You two flirt so much at school it's unbelievable!'. I discovered that not only do most of my friends think I like him, they think he likes me too.
My friend says she was in a similar situation with him when she liked him a while ago, and he dumped his girlfriend for her. But she didn't date him in the end because she didn't want to ruin their friendship.
I just don't know what to do any more :/ all my friends say I should tell him, but I'm scared of getting my heart broken & ruining a great friendship :(
Please help.

i forgot to add;
he didnt break up with his girlfriend FOR my friend, but basically his girlfriend was not very nice and my friend admitted she liked him and he said look i cant take this any more to his girlfriend because she's a bit of a ***** :/
Also he's absolutely head-over-heels for this other girl but she doesnt feel the same way..I just dont know.
Why is it obvious to everyone except me that he feels the same way? Why do I feel like he thinks we're just friends?

don't listen 2 ur frendz...this guy's taken with another girl.in a large gang, it's fun if 2 ppl r dating from the same group, so everyone just lets imagination run wild, and think of a forest when all there is is a little sapling.don't ruin a good frendship.

A guy will always take what he can from a girl. He dumped a girl for another girl and you think he's date worthy? Tell you what, talk to his ex-girlfriend and see what he's really like.

Keep the friendship as friend ship. Hugs and intimate contacts can be avoided if you dont like them.It seems he is playing a game with you so beware!!!!
