Yes it did. I have spent many happy hours in Birkenhead Park.

Strictly speaking, it was the first publicly funded park. Central Park in New York was modelled on Birkenhead Park

Yes. It was laid down by Joseph Paxton 1843-47 Its 226 acres contain two artificial lakes and cricket and football pitches.
