First Class Cricket: Historians are still not certain on which games should be classified as First Class Cricket. The game goes back to 1660s...so no really records are available.

Test Matches: Charles Bannerman of Australia (Also the first man to face a ball and score a run in test Cricket). He played in the very first Test match, held at Melbourne in March 1876/77. Dropped before he reached double figures, he went on to 165 when he was forced to retire hurt, his finger being broken by a ball from George Ulyett. This was not only the first century scored in a Test match, but remains, more than 130 years later, the highest score by an Australian batsman on debut.

ODI: Dennis Amiss: He has the distinction of scoring the first ever one-day international century (103 in the second ever one-day international in 1972).

20-20 internationals: No one in international matches has scored a century: Ponting with 98 is the closest at the moment.
