Perhaps a more holistic approach to life would help answer this question.
I for one do not believe in the duel nature of the universe, yet I strongly believe in the different oppositional spiritual qualities of humanity.

You have to remember that THE universe does not have a dual nature, it's just the model of the universe in some of our heads that creates the illusion.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'different oppositional spiritual qualities of humanity?' If by spritual qualities you mean the part of our belief system for which there is no rational explanation, then, yes. Some things we can 'know' about the universe and some things we can only 'experience'. It's like the non-self-aware-animals, they can only experience the universe but they do so in perfect harmony with it. We have kind of lost this ability because of our intellectual minds overpowering our 'spiritual' minds.

But there is this apparent duality (and sometimes conflict) of intellectual knowledge and experiential knowledge. The two can be re-integrated, many people have, and it is well worth the effort.

Yes, the duality of the macrocosm and the microcosm arise from the same duality which arose from non-duality. The One which became two was an attributeless entity with all potentialities in It.

The closest analogy which I can think of to expalin that singularity of non-duality is to use the concept of a number line. I am sure you are familiar with the number line. 0 is in the middle of a horizontal line and all +ve numbers are to the right hand side, and the -ve numbers are to the left hand side of the equation. It is the x-axis of the the x-y coordinate system.

Now for every +ve number which we want to create, we also need to create an equal and opposite -ve number, to maintain the balance. So, if you look at it, all +ve and all -ve numbers are products of 0 and 0 is not an empty number but is full of all possible numbers. 0 is the father, mother and origin of the existence.
