I think Johnny Depp is the most independant actor of our time He chooses his work and seem to shun the hollywood lifestyle in favour of wife and kids thats my sort of actor. I think his role in Pirates of the Carribean was his alone he makes that character his own. I would walk the plank for him anytime.

I agree with you 110%, he just has everything, looks, screen presence, sex appeal, he is what a film star should be, he has the XXX factor, not to mention he is a talened character actor, and what's more he is down to earth and doen't let it go to his head, phew, he just does it for me too!

I thought the first film was ok, the second was just pure rubbish, which is a shame because I like Johnny Depp. And what was the deal with the stupid squid thing at the end, I can't believe that was nominated for best special effects. I just think that the next one will be even less appealing. The only reason Pirates 2 was as successful as it was last year was due to the fact that there wasn't really anything good released, most of the great film film 2006 (The Queen, Thank you for Smoking etc) were more independent. This year there are a lot of really great big films out, Shrek 3, Potter 5, Spiderman 3 and The Simpsons. Sorry, but I think Pirates 3 will be blown out of the water this year.

I kept wondering during the movie if pirates were supposed to be swooshy type gay, or if I was missing something. I mean, I've worked alongside gay people before, and they acted NOTHING like Depp did in this weird @$$ movie. I was at least hoping they would have made the witch "Marie Laveau", who would have fit into the Carribean theme. Keira Knightley did look hot in the movie, and that was the high point as far as I am concerned. The rest was essentially pointless special effects and setup for Pirates 3.

Oh my God!! I can't wait for it! I think Johnny Depp is the best actor ever and he is amazing in Pirates of the Carribean!! Did you notice that he always plays slightly wierd people? e.g. Jack Sparrow, Willy Wonka, Edward Scissorhands. Hope Pirates of the Carribean 3 is great!!!!

i completely agree with you. Johnny is sexy (both as a pirate and not), independent from all the Hollywood lifestyle, loves his girlfriend and kids, he's the only actor that could play ever kind of character and make them all "come alive", he's not self-centered at all (like most celebrities are), and he doesn't like the fame that comes from being a celebrity.

the last one was far too long and repetitious. it needed a good editor. Depp is a top actor it has to be said and Capt Jack is lovely but the endless action and effects got in the way.

Yes! Orlando is my favourite pirate along with Johnny too. I just want to see what happenes and see more piraty action from them both! Sword fighting rocks!

Absolutely!!!He's the best of his kind(or I should better say best of all kinds!),irresistibly hot and sexy,a versatile actor and great performer!I totally agree with you on his choice of lifestyle!I adore him as Jack Sparrow and keep counting the days till the release of the movie!
