The Philippines is a great place to visit as the people there have a warm hospitality & very friendly w/c I didn't encounter when I've visited other countries...

Historically, Philippines was governed by Spain where the name Philippines came. Later it was governed by Japan and then Americans where the latter bestowed us our independence.
Geographically, Philippines is an archepelago found in the Southeast Asia and comprises 7,100 islands. There are three major island divisions : Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
On the TOURISM side there are some wonders like the Rice Terraces in Banaue and the Chocolate Hills is Bohol. There are beaches also that are par with the world known just like the Boracay Island, El Nido, Amanpulo and Dakak.
The PEOPLE are hospitable. The government is democratic though I cannot say that we have a perfect one just like other countries we are striving for an stable economy.
But I can still say that Philippines is the best place for tourist because of our CLIMATE, food and the tourist places we have.

I love Rice_Killers answer, it is very true. I've been there and am married to a former Filipine national. For being so educated it seems there is no industry or innovative companies in the country to make it better. Pollution in Manilla is horrible and the traffic there is archaic, though at least most people use public transportation and drive small Asian cars. A big problem for the country is that it strongely encourages its most talented people to work in other countries and send money back home. There are so many broken families in PH that it rivals America, the difference being that money is the driving point in PH as people work overseas leaving their kids back with other relatives. The country is stuck in a vicious circle and needs a real leader.

Very beautiful women. Very close families that care about each other. Hard working, educated people that know how to survive but very poor. Dirty and corrupt government system that don't know how to take care of their beautiful people.
It will take a very special leader with God given abilities to solve the problem in the philippines.
I am a foreigner and I wish that the Philippines was as stable and rich like the United States.
Maybe in a perfect world beyond our wildest dreams, the Philippines will be a prosperous nation.

Philippines is the inhabitant of one of the most smartest race known to men...not by birth but through experience...they strive to outsmart and pull down one another to poverty...extreme status quo...you can find one of the riches family and one of the poorest...Filipinoes are clean in terms of personal hygien but manage to throw thier garbage in the streets, lakes and public places in broad day light...Government officials boasting on how good the economy is but refuse to see if the regular wage is capable of supporting a family....yes...Philippines is the best Anger Management and Jungle Survival Training Center the world can offer.

The Philippines is an archiepelago with 7,100 islands they have many dialects but Filipino is the mostly spoken language in this country.The Filipinos have a warm hospitality which I can say is the best trait they ever have.

A very free country with laws that don't work. Prisoner can run for politics from prison,corrupted official have free to corrupt.
