I agree with having it sealed if not already. I am a professional house cleaning technician and clean granite regularly. NEVER USE BARKEEPERS FRIEND OR BLEACH OR ANYTHING ABRASIVE! IT WILL RUIN YOUR GRANITE. Only use cleaners meant for granite or a LITTLE antibacterial dish soap in a spray bottle mixed with water. I however recommend using "Method" brand granite cleaner spray, available at target. It works wonders. Good luck to you.

A guy at work had granite counters put into his new house. At his housewarming party, people left beer bottles and drinks on the bar, and rings appeared the next day. Try as he might, he could not get the stone back to new. He even had the granite installers come look at it and nothing they tried worked. He wound up buying all new stone, and promptly got it properly sealed.

Maybe you'll be lucky and the tips on the following page will actually help you out. Good luck!

E-cloths are great buy the two cloth kit. Use the thicker green one with a little hot water to clean your surface use a washing up liquid solution but make it weak if the surface is really dirty and buff with the thinner blue one.( i use an antibacterial spray with the green cloth but the info with the cloths says you dont need to) i have emerald pearl granite work tops and they are impossible to keep clean but these cloths are the best ive tries/. you can but them from kleeneze, lakeland and some independant cookshops in uk or where you buy granite worktops

There was a cleaning paste called barkeepers friend, supposed to remove anything from anything. Maybe worth looking for that.

Failing that, have you tried a household steam cleaner ? or scrubbing with a stipp brush and vinegar ?

Razor blade. To keep it clean use Imus Greening the Cleaning All-purpose cleaner. Makes it shine so nicely!

Use a soluble lime scale remover to dissolve as much as possible.

Buy a stone polishing kit and polish the whole surface.

Good luck! Rob
