NO
Salsa "Latin Soul" Flavor and Spice, Ritmo!
Rhythm-African slaves brought to the Caribbean
mixed with Indian European melodies and the
Spanish Lyrics with the high spirits of New York Jazz
add some Brass and Salsa was born!! But it was the
young Puerto Ricans that developed and kept it alive
in New York City, or we wouldn't have it today.

i think that the salsa was created on voyages from spain to the americas when the women would dance for the men when they were away from home. it was kinda like a prostetute thing where they used the ladies as dancers while their wives were back home.
