If your tank is filtered and cycled they should be fine. Don't get anybody to feed them over the break because the water quality could go bad and there'd be nobody to fix it. No auto feeders or slow-release feeders either.

Yes, you can. Most people aren't aware of just how long a fish can go without food and remain in full health. If you put those dissolving blocks into your tank you may as well go without, since they contain almost no nutrition and only degrade water quality.

Automatic feeders are more viable option if you are not comfortable leaving them, but you don't need it, it would be more for your own peace of mind.

The slow release food is the best way to go. Don't bother with the electric feeder. We always use the slow release tablets. You can get them for a few days or longer. They are inexpensive and won't cloud your water.

they make slow release food caplets which you drop into the tank and will slowly desolve over a weeks or more feeding your fish for you. Ask for them at your pet store.

they make electric feeders. you put the food in and it dispenses it on schedule. they are maybe 12 bucks at walmart. you might find you like it so much you use it all the time. no more worrying about if you fed them yet or not.
